4th Annual Chili Cookoff

 

If you are selling your home during the warmer summer months, take care to make sure the outdoor spaces retain their good appearance. Make sure to water the lawn, to keep it green. Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival

 

Curb appeal counts heavily in the summer, as it does anytime of the year.  Make the most of your outside areas, by keeping trees and shrubs pruned, the grass mowed and the property free from debris. The Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival will be taking place at the Balboa Yacht Club. This year there will be 50 wooden boats on display.  The Wooden Boat Festival is being held on Saturday, June 9th.  The festival opens at 10am and closes at 5:30pm. The Balboa Yacht Club is located at 1801 Bayside Drive in Newport Beach. This is a free event and is open to the public. This five year old event was founded by Ralph Rodheim and is one of the finest collections of wooden boats on the west coast. In addition, to the wooden boats there will be live music, maritime art, exhibits and food and drinks. There will be a silent auction.  Last year, nearly 4,000 people attended the festival. 25th Annual Balboa Island Parade

 

When you are preparing for a home sale, it is important to de-clutter your home. De-clutter your closets, as well.  Potential buyers are going to look in closets, so having them neat and orderly is essential but by de-cluttering you can also make them appear larger. Take out all out of season clothes, especially items such as bulky winter sweaters and store these off-site. When preparing for a showing or an open house, open the closet doors and turn on the closet light.

 

The 25th Annual Balboa Island Parade will be taking place on Sunday, June 3rd.  The parade begins at 11am; the bridge closes at 10:45 am. This year the parade theme is “Silver Bells, Sea Shells and Sandy Beaches.” The parade will have children on bikes, island dogs, decorated golf carts, floats, vintage cars, the USC Marching Band, Keystone cops, drill teams, marching bands and many more parade favorites.  The parade moves down Marine Avenue on Balboa Island. After the parade there will be an after party, which begins immediately following the parade, in front of the fire station. The after party will feature live, local surf music legends. Newport Beach Spirits Tasting Event
