2023 Baroque Music Festival

The 2023 Baroque Music Festival is coming to Corona del Mar during the month of June. A Bach Kaleidocope will begin on June 18th and finish on June 25th. The first concert takes place on June 18th at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church. This concert features flute, violin, harpsicord, and oboes. The second concert is on June 19th at St. Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church. This concert is A Bach Flute recital featuring flutes, harpsichord, and violin. The third concert is Flattery, Fugues and Frivolities on June 21st at Sherman Library and Gardens. On June 23rd, Bach the Indestructible, featuring oboe, cello, harpsichord, and violin will take place at Sherman Library and Gardens. The final concert will be held on June 25th at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church. The finale concert is Darkness and Light. Concerts begin at 4pm and continue until 6:30pm. Mother's Day Bayside Brunch at Balboa Bay Resort

Balboa Bay Resort is hosting a Bayside Brunch for Mother’s Day.  On Sunday, May 14th, Balboa Bay Resort will be featuring an over-the-top brunch buffet to celebrate mom. The buffet will be set up in the grand ballroom, with several stations including a crepe station, seafood display, sushi bar, carving station, and dessert display. There will be craft activities, games, and petting zoo. Bring your cameras because the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance. The festivities get underway at 12pm and continue until 4pm. 2023 Hoag Classic

The Hoag Classic will be held from March 15th through March 19th.  One week, each year the international golf spotlight turns on Newport Beach. The Hoag Classic is being held at the Newport Beach Country Club. This is the only official PGA Tour Champions event in Orange County and is the most philanthropic event in PGA Tour Champions history.  The Hoag Classic helps to raise money for local military organizations such as US Navy Memorial Foundation, Blue Angels Foundation, The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and many more.  Newport Beach Country Club is located at 1600 East Coast Highway in Newport Beach. Dwarf Camellia Bonsai Class

Sherman Library and Gardens is hosting a Bonsai Class on Dwarf Camellias. On Thursday, January 26th, from 10am to 1pm, learn how to maintain and display a camelia in the traditional Japanese style. Instructor Debra Mauzy-Melitz from the Orange Empire Bonsai Society will show participants to how to prepare a dwarf camellia to be grown in the traditional windswept design, called Fukinagashi. Participants will begin by repotting the dwarf camellia into an asymmetrical pot, the next step is learning to wire the branches for directional growth. Beginners are welcome. Festive Flower Ornaments Workshop at Sherman Library and Gardens

Sherman Library and Gardens is hosting a craft workshop to make Christmas ornaments. Join them in the garden to make festive flower ornaments with pressed flowers. Alexandra will teach participants to use decoupage to make two ornaments with pressed flowers and leaves. This class will take place in the outdoor classroom. The workshop takes place on Friday, December 9th from 10am to 11:30am. All materials will be provided. Fee for members is $35 and for non-members is $40. Cookbook Signing at Roger's Gardens

Roger’s Gardens is hosting an appearance and book signing with Diana Briscoe, on Saturday, November 12th. Diana Briscoe is the executive chef at Gracias Madre’s. Gracias Madre is the sister restaurant of Café Gratitude. This appearance will feature the new Garcias Madre cookbook. In the cookbook, you will find recipes from Mexico and Southern California, all adapted for the plant-based cook. Gracias Madre has a location in Los Angeles and a secondary location in Newport Beach. There will be copies of the cookbook available at the book signing. The book signing will be held in the Garden Amphitheater, from 12 noon to 3pm. 5th Annual Halloween Spooktacular

The 5th Annual Halloween Spooktacular is taking place on Saturday, October 29th. The Halloween Spooktacular is being held at Mariners Park, from 3pm to 6pm. Come and enjoy live music, trunk-or-treat, a haunted maze, carnival games, bounce houses, costume contests, and food trucks. The costume contest registration is between 3 and 3:45pm and the contest begins at 4:15pm. There is even a dog category in the costume contest.
