Tunes at the Dunes

Newport Dunes Water Resort and Marina will be hosting Tunes at the Dunes.  On Saturday, April 4th, HIRIE and Cali Conscious will be performing. Last year this was a sold-out concert, so get your tickets ahead of time. The band harnesses “the power of accessible songcraft, social consciousness,” and musicality. Their music is about healing the mind, body and spirit. The band includes many instruments, such as: vocals, guitar, uke, saxophone, flute, accordion and percussion. The concert will begin at 7pm and continue until 10pm. Newport Dunes Resort is located at 1131 Back Bay Drive in Newport Beach. Sunset Jazz Supper Club in March

The March installment of the Sunset Jazz Supper Club will take place on Wednesday, March 4th , doors open at 6pm. The concert begins at 7pm.  This is the third installment in a five part once monthly series. This time the Bruce Forman Trio will be performing featuring Alex Frank, Jake Reed and The Red Guitar. Newport Jazz founders, Joe Rothman and John McClure are taking their summer series to winter and spring at the Hook and Spear restaurant at the Marriott. The Sunset Jazz Supper Club is held at the Newport Beach Marriot Hotel and Spa, which is located at 900 Newport Center Drive. Meet the Author at Newport Beach Library

Meet the Author will be held at the Newport Beach Library on Wednesday, February 12th. This month the features author will be Anita Abriel, who wrote, The Light After the War. This book was inspired the by author’s mother’s story of survival during World War II. The book follows two young women from Hungary who escape before being sent to Auschwitz and spend the rest of the war hiding out on an Austrian farm. Anita Abriel is a Dana Point resident. The evening begins at 7pm in the Friends Meeting Room at the Central Branch of the Newport Beach Library. The Central Branch is located at 1000 Avocado Avenue.
